“What Wedding Folies presents to the public is all services covering all sectors of wedding activity – starting with the invitations, to reception spaces, venues and catering, everything,” Choueiri continued.

The four-day fair opened Thursday at BIEL under the auspices of Tourism Minister Fady Abboud with more than 250 exhibitors, many set up in elaborate booths from scenes out of glamorous wedding parties.

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (CBS) — Some local brides will be getting an early Valentine’s Day gift next week at a South Jersey secondhand store.

Workers at the Goodwill store on Route 70 in Pennsauken, NJ were furiously unpacking bridal gowns today and organizing them in preparation for their fourth annual Valentine’s Bridal Sale Extravaganza, on February 11th.

“Throughout the year, we solicit from are bridal  stores, asking them to please donate any surplus gowns or floor samples, seasonal things that they’re getting rid of,” says Julie Lundberg (above), with Goodwill of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.  “We warehouse them for the year, and then we bring them all together for this one-day event.”

Lundberg says it’s not just exciting for the brides, it’s also exciting for Goodwill because this sale is a huge fundraiser for them.

“The money is funneled directly into our mission programs, helping people with disabilities find jobs, so it’s a win-win for Goodwill and for local brides,” she tells KYW Newsradio.

The wedding dresses — approximately 200 of them — will be priced between $ 50 and $ 300 each.

A Granger wedding boutique unexpectedly closes its doors, causing wedding woes for brides around Michiana.

The owner says it’s only temporary, while brides are worried about their plans for the big day.

Tuesday morning the owner of Brides a la Mode, Kathy Strukel, said brides had nothing to be worried about, and the store will remain open. Brides say they can’t get in touch with anyone at the store and are concerned about the status of their dress orders.

This weekend customers say it was business as usual at the boutique at the City Plaza in Granger.

On Monday a sign was posted saying the store was closed until February 15 for inventory and remodeling. The owner says they are downsizing and will rent one space instead of two.

She also says she’s contacted all of the customers about their dresses.
