Something old, something new Wedding planning spans generations for brides-to-be

Bride-to-be Sarah Opbroek, of Kingsley, and her mom Sherry Opbroek, of South Dakota, check out cupcakes at one of the booths at the Le Mars Bridal Expo held Saturday at the Willow Creek Golf Course banquet room in Le Mars. About 23 vendors were part of the exhibit, and many brides-to-be attended, some with their moms, who are helping plan their upcoming nuptials.

While some people hire wedding planners to help them get ready to say “I do,” many brides-to-be look to someone a little closer to home to help: their moms.

Many mother-daughter pairs wandered from booth to booth Saturday at the Le Mars Bridal Expo at the Willow Creek Golf Course banquet room in Le Mars.

JUSTIN Timberlake and Jessica Biel have been planning their wedding!

The pair were reportedly seen having a relaxed lunch meeting with their wedding planner at LA’s Soho House on Feb. 3.

“Jessica’s told Justin she wants to get married outside at sunset,” a friend of the couple told Life & Style.

The pair began dating in early 2007. After four years together, they announced a split in March 2011, but by fall 2011, they had reunited. In late December, Justin proposed to Jessica in the mountains of Jackson, Wyo.

Q. What is your business? What are the products and services you offer?

A. Flower Co. is a floral and gift shop. We specialize in roses of all colors, and also have mixed bouquets and fresh flowers, potted plants, dish gardens, hanging flower baskets and flower arrangements. We also specialize in wedding flowers, funeral arrangements and boutonnieres/corsages for homecoming, prom, mother’s day and other special events.

We also have nonfloral gifts. Customers can check out our jewelry cases, framed photography prints, Packer pictures, photo frames, lawn art, metal art, balloon bouquets, inspirational/motivational books, greeting cards and novelty gift items.

We also offer delivery.

Q. Do you have prior business experience? What did you learn from that experience?

A. Yes. I have been in the floral industry for 20 years. In 1992, I managed two floral kiosks at the Grand Avenue and Northridge Malls in Milwaukee called the Rose Meister.
