Following the return of an Idahoan’s wedding ring, Broken Promises comments on the sanctity of marriage and sentimental value of rings, imploring the bridal jewelry industry to be honest about tungsten carbide.

(PRWEB) July 31, 2012

On July 31, 2012, the Broken Promises Coalition issued a statement following the story of a true testament to the importance of wedding rings that couples take their vows with, emphasizing the coalition’s belief that the bridal jewelry industry must be held to higher standards and create wedding rings that will last a lifetime.

According to an article from The Washington Post, “When she lost her diamond wedding ring four years ago, Necia Rasmussen held out hope for several months before finally buying a replacement. But she never stopped missing the one that got away.” The article went on to state that the ring was found four years after it had gone missing by a kayaker who returned the ring to Rasmussen who referred to the…………… continues on RedOrbit

Exclusive: All About Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Catriona McGinn’s Wedding Bands
News from People Magazine:

When Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Catriona McGinn exchanged vows on Saturday in Santa Ynez, Calif., they also exchanged heartfelt symbols of their love: handcrafted wedding bands. Handmade in platinum by jeweler Neil Lane, the one-of-a-kind bands were a true collaboration between Lane, Gosselaar and his advertising executive bride.

“They were very specific about their rings, wanted something very special and were so excited to be a part of the designing process,” Lane tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Mark-Paul wanted something strong and stylish and, right from the start, Catriona knew she wanted something very romantic and very sparkly to complement her cushion-cut diamond engagement ring,” also designed by Lane.

The result? For the Franklin & Bash star, a wide platinum band with a burnished matte texture “to give it a cool, contemporary edge,” says the celebrity jeweler. And for Catriona, a roughly 3-carat eternity band set with dozens of small diamonds on all three sides “so everywhere you look you can see diamonds continuously sparkl…………… continues on People Magazine

Newlyweds gifts stolen on wedding night
News from Sacramento Bee:

Wedded bliss for a newlywed couple was dampened when they learned all of their gifts from friends and family had been stolen during their wedding night at a Blaine hotel.

Josh and Emily Wood arrived at the hotel just before midnight Saturday and about 7 a.m. Sunday a member of their wedding party spotted the driver’s side door to the couple’s SUV was wide open in the parking lot. The couple found everything was gone, cards and all. Emily Wood tells KSTP-TV ( http://bit.ly/Nfwehg) they were blindsided and that it was hard to imagine something so bad could happen on such a happy day.

Emily Wood says the gifts may be gone, but the thieves can’t steal their wedding day memories.

Not so fast, says event planner Lynn Wheatley, owner of Lasting Impressions.

Although the first thing brides want to think about is the dress, Wheatley says other priorities need to be considered. Whether you’ve got three or 13 months to plan a wedding, a lot of decisions have to be made.

Prioritize

Wheatley said the first thing to think about when planning a wedding is the guest list.

“I don’t think most (brides) understand that not only is the budget impacted by the guest list, but the place of reception and ceremony is impacted,” she said.

Christina Leigh Clayton of Christina Leigh Events said booking a venue and photographer are also among the first things to be done. For June or October, which are peak wedding months, you’ll need to book a year in advance to have the best shot of securing the venue and photographer you want.

News from Huffington Post:

When Elizabeth Ulrich learned that her father had pancreatic cancer, she and her fiancé, Will Fanguy, 30, scrapped the $ 8,000 wedding they’d been planning for almost three months and put together their nuptials in just eight weeks — on a reduced budget of $ 5,000 — to ensure that her father would be able to walk her down the aisle. E-mails from foreign customers usually soar in the afternoon. A short trip to wedding dressmakers may be needed to supplement the stock. Wedding dresses in the warehouse are awaiting packaging before being sent to express delivery companies that will eventually take them to Germany.

Wedding planner wants to work for community
News from The Daily Post:

Part of Rotorua District Council’s economic development tagline is live, work and invest – and this is exactly what Peter Duncan returned home to do.

Mr Duncan, who owns theWeddingGuy, was one of 21 local people recently honoured with Rotorua Community Leadership Awards.

They were created by Rotorua Mayor Kevin Winters to celebrate the Sir Peter Blake Trust Leadership Week.

Mr Duncan, with his wife, Valeta, and two daughters, returned to Rotorua and started his own wedding planning business.

“We returned home to Rotorua in 2007 to live because it was a bit more relaxed and a good place for our children to grow up,” he said.

He is determined to grow his company and provide more employment opportunities. “As business grows we’ll be able to invest and put back into our community.”

As well as financial investment, Mr Duncan is intent on investing in the social wellbeing of Rotorua and has set up the Rock Solid Charitable Trust.

“We want to be able to educate and enrich the lives of others by providing counselling and seminars to expand their own boundaries.”

It was still early days for the trust, and Mr Duncan said they were hoping to get it up and running by next year.

It’s rude to solicit gifts
News from Arizona Republic:

Jul. 29, 2012 05:51 PM

Dear Abby: I am a 46-year-old female being married for the second time. My first marriage took place 28 years ago and didn’t cost my parents a penny because there was no wedding.

I would like to ask them to contribute financially this time to help with the cost of a small, intimate ceremony and dinner for fewer than 20 people. Am I asking too much?

– Second Time Around in Orlando

Dear Second Time Around: Yes. Couples on their “second bounce” pay for their own weddings. And, by the way, there is no obligation on the part of the bride’s parents to pay for her wedding even the first time around. A wedding is a gift, and to solicit a gift is inappropriate. If your parents volunteer to chip in for your wedding, then it’s fine to accept. But don’t ask them to do it.

Dear Abby: I’m a 38-year-old woman who has moved around my whole life. Because of this, I have no childhood friends who have carried over to adulthood. I am friendless and lonely for companionship. I have a husband and a son, but I long for a female friend I can chat with, shop with or just sit with and b…………… continues on Arizona Republic

While in Ghana, Bettina’s cousin introduced her to Yaw. Bettina thought she was meeting a potential business partner to discuss possible ventures in Accra. Her cousin had something else in mind. Yaw was so impressed with Bettina that he told her he knew she’d be his wife one day. Bettina laughed it off, thinking he was joking.

First date: Yaw worked as a television host at a station in Ghana and a basketball developer. What was the turning point in your life?
I started out as a Grade III teacher at Nakyesanja Primary School in Kawanda in the 70s. In 1977, I got married. I soon realised my teaching job was not bringing in enough money to sustain the family. That was my turning point as I decided to ‘drop the chalk’ to seek other sources of income.

What was your first business and how did it go?
After I quit teaching, it was challenging to look after my family, yet I had no job. It so happened that I had never believed in going to shops to buy items I could make with my own hands.

The couple got engaged on the season finale of the show, and has kept their engagement secret for months. Over the past week, Emily has given tons of interviews about the future plans for this couple, and in a new interview with ABC, Emily reveals her plans for the actual wedding. Up until now, she has only revealed that she has found her wedding dress and that she wants a spring wedding. Now, she has more intimate details about how their special day will happen.

“I’ve been planning it since I was six,” ‘Bachelorette’ star Emily Maynard shared in a recent press call for ABC. “I’m not a huge wedding type of girl. I would be happy just with a back yard, low-key, casual wedding, everybody wears jeans, whatever. I don’t even care. To me it’s not about the wedding and the flowers and all that. Planning a wedding? Financial tips to ease your budget and mind
News from Eastern Arizona Courier:

While a wedding is a joyous occasion that both brides- and grooms-to-be eagerly anticipate, the financial aspects of planning and hosting a large, complex event can be completely overwhelming. Getting to the big day without breaking the bank might seem like an impossible task, but with a few smart steps before, during and after the ceremony, you’ll ensure your bank account will remain as strong as your love for each other.

Tip 1: Strive to come in under-budget

Set a budget and stick to it – or better yet, come in below it. Start out the wedding-planning process with a set budget for all major expenses such as food, music, wedding attire, flowers and the cake. But don’t forget about all the little expenses that can add up too. For example, tips for services that the DJ, drivers, hairstylist and bartenders provide can add up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Remembering all the details and giving yourself a little financial wiggle room should something be overlooked is a wise decision.

Tip 2: Wedding insurance equals peace of mind

Insurance for a wedding? It’s something many have not heard of until planning a wedding, but it should be a priority because it protects your investment should something unexpected occur. According…………… continues on Eastern Arizona Courier

Divorce Fashion: Black Wedding Dresses
News from LifeGoesStrong:

Billy Idol sang: “It’s a nice day for a white wedding.” Do you think the same would work for black wedding gowns?

I admit I was surprised to see Vera Wang’s black wedding dress collection for 2012 (there are red and beige ones, too). But I was also surprised to find that I liked them. Especially the Jane, a mermaid gown awash in beige, which looks daringly nude, and Joelle, a black corseted strapless with a renaissance echo with its froth of white and beige underskirts.

Well, maybe that’s not so surprising since Vera Wang has been queen of the wedding dress designers for decades now. Chelsea Clinton is just one of a long line of celebrities outfitted in one of her wedding gowns.

However, what was a surprise to many was the announcement earlier this month of her divorce fr…………… continues on LifeGoesStrong
