A woman was mourning the loss of her $ 10,000 engagement ring Thursday.

Brooke Parker said that she and her husband, Michael, parked their car in an Arena District parking garage for a kickball game Wednesday and returned to find $ 10,000 worth of jewelry missing, 10TV’s Justin Moss reported.

The couple removed their rings – Brooke’s combined wedding ring and diamond engagement ring and Michael’s wedding band — for their weekly kickball game Wednesday night and stashed them in their car’s console.

“We went back to our car and went to get our rings from the center console where we had hidden them, and they were gone,” Parker said.

The Parkers said that they had a number of other valuable items in the car, including power tools and golf clubs, but only the rings were stolen.

“It’s just stuff when you think about it,” Brooke Parker said. “We have our health, but someone took something that was very meaningful to us.”

Columbus police said that they were investigating the burglary, Moss reported.

DOVER — A 27-year-old Dover man is being held at the Morris County jail on $ 650,000 bail after he allegedly went on a weeklong crime spree in which he robbed or tried to rob wedding rings from women at three shopping areas in the county.

Christian Rivera started the string of incidents on April 18, when he pointed what appeared to be a handgun at a woman at a shopping area in Rockaway Township and demanded her wedding ring, according to police.
